Friends President Doreen Mollenhauer explains, “VSA has just joined our Merchants & Members Program for the 2025–26 Membership year, so we are especially delighted that VSA has also made a donation from its recent Summer Book Club event.” On July 10, 2025, Dr. Julia Guo, VSA Future Director, presented Friends of the Library Board member Anita Mintz with the donation. VSA Future faculty and staff joined to celebrate the gift. They were joined by Hong Yuan, Chairperson of Livingston Chinese Association and Livingston Zoning Board Member, and Fang Gong, Livingston Board of Education Member and Vice Chair of Livingston Chinese Association.Dr. Guo explained, “Just as VSA’s vision is to train well-rounded students through a holistic educational approach, the Library has a long tradition of providing innovative, forward-thinking educational and youth services to the community. We hope more Livingston families can access the power of books through the Library.”VSA Future organized a Summer Book Club program this June, with all proceeds going to support Friends of the Livingston Public Library. Ms. Poorva, a 2025 graduate from Livingston High School, led the Book Club planning and led weekly book club sessions with local students. Passionate about reading from a young age, Ms. Poorva enjoyed fostering a love for reading in the next generation through the VSA Future Book Club.
