I am from the West Lake, from its rich history full with mythical legends and hidden wonders Head and spirit combined, descending from my ancestors. I am from red braised pork belly crafted by my father, from the sound of birds chirping to the rhythm of a heartbeat. I am from “keep your free hand on the table when eating”, and “everything can be achieved with hard work.” Quotes that have brought me up and are close to my heart. I am from having dinner together as a family and kinship, from Jie and Zheng. I am from squid strips with celery and baked buns, from tenderness and sweet goodness the smell of the sea and the smell of the bakery, all in one room. I am from feeling appreciated in my world and being cheered on I am from “A house is made up of walls and beams, but a home is built with love and dreams…” I am me.
