VSA Future and NYVA Celebrate 2025 Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards VSA Future and NYVA Celebrate 2025 Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards Play Previous Next On May 18th, 2025, the National Youth Visionaries Association (NYVA), VSA Future Learning Center, and CAPA Nova co-hosted the 3rd Annual Rising Visionaries Young Artists Award Ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.VSA Future, led by Dr. Julia Guo, was proud to participate in this inspiring event, which featured students from the national academic enrichment and education center. The ceremony exhibition featured writing pieces from six gifted VSA Future students who had received Gold and Silver Keys in the 2025 Scholastic awards. The students, representing young VSA Future scholars who collectively won 62 awards in the Scholastic competition this year, took to the stage to share their personal writing journeys. There, they reflected on the passion, perseverance, and imagination that shaped their creative works. Among the 2025 Scholastic honors received by VSA’s students were 2 National Silver Medals, 14 Gold Keys, 21 Silver Keys, and 25 Honorable Mentions, showcasing their exceptional storytelling and literary talent. One VSA Future student was also a nominee for national recognition in the American Voices Award, one of only five nominees in the region.Six VSA students from Livingston took home nine awards collectively, earning three Gold Keys, four Silver Keys, and two Honorable Mentions. The winners include Calvin Cheng, Henry Tang, Connor Li, Jeffrey Xiong, Michael Jiang from Livingston High School, along with Sophia Ha from Newark Academy.This year’s vibrant celebration recognized the achievements, creativity, and social contributions of more than 43 exceptional young students. The ceremony brought together educators, families, community leaders, and young artists to honor the transformative power of youth expression across various artistic disciplines. The achievements of NYVA’s award-winning artists, who garnered recognition from the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, along with the accomplishments of other young artists in the region, were commended at the ceremony. The event also celebrated the literary achievements of VSA’s 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Award winners. After months of dedication and participation in our intensive writing workshops, our students demonstrated remarkable creativity and skill, earning top honors in this prestigious competition.The ceremony was highlighted by the presence of esteemed guests and supporters. The students also received warm letters of congratulations and encouragement from other supporters, including the Governor and First Lady of Virginia. The program featured a lineup of prominent speakers from various organizations like the UNESCO Center for Peace, ArtsFairfax, and the International Forum. Six student speakers from VSA Future joined them to discuss the role of art and creativity in their own lives. VSA Future Learning Center is deeply honored to have taken part in such a meaningful event. The students’ accomplishments reflect the Center’s ongoing commitment to fostering a solid foundation in language arts and encouraging student voices through writing.
